At Danroc (Pty) Ltd, we are passionate about macadamia farming and relish the knowledge that we produce macadamias of the highest quality.

We have been farming macadamias since 1989 and are significantly proficient in this agricultural sector. Being based in Mpumalanga’s Lowveld area – the epicentre of macadamia farming due to its climate – gives us an edge and we currently harvest all leading cultivars.

Since establishing our macadamia farm, 1032 ha have been planted year to date, and our key objective is to add 1000 ha by 2025. We are confident we will achieve this goal not only because we produce macadamia nuts of the finest quality, but also due to the commitment, dedication and expertise of our farm management and research and development teams and employees. Danroc’s R & D unit focuses exclusively on the development and establishment of macadamia farms that use precision farming and industry-leading techniques.

The sharp rise in the popularity of macadamia nuts is another contributing factor of our success. Macadamia nuts are known for their versatility and health benefits and are in high demand throughout the world.

Macadamias are made up of more than 75% healthy fats (monounsaturated fats) and are rich in essential vitamins, mineral and antioxidants. They are particularly beneficial for the heart, skin and bones and do wonders when it comes to regulating cholesterol and sugar levels.  In addition, macadamia nuts are rich in palmitoleic acid (omega-7 fatty acid), which promotes skin, nail, and hair health. They are also known to reduce the risk of metabolic syndrome and diabetes.

In addition to being viewed by the health and wellness sector as a superfood, macadamias are also widely sought-after by those in the confectionery, baking, ice cream and snack food industries. At the same time, their shells are in high demand in the beauty, motor manufacturing and homeware industries
